For Skate Like a Girl the goal was to document a community built on courage and joy, a non-profit that lifts up young women and trans skaters and gives them space to own their craft, and the work focused on finding the quiet moments between tricks where confidence shows itself in a glance or a stance or the way someone laughs after a fall, so the approach leaned into natural light and real movement rather than posed shots, letting each frame catch the energy of the space as it came, and the process drew from the bold color of decks and concrete and the soft blur of wheels in motion, and from there a visual thread formed that ties together grit and warmth and the particular kind of freedom that shows up when people feel truly seen and supported in what they love.
